T
he PSD supports three clock modes: internal, external from the main
channel, or external from subchannel 1.
A built-in buffer compensates for phase differences between
modem clocks that are connected to the subchannels and the PSD’s
main-channel transmit clock. You can activate an extra buffer option on
the PSD-8 when it’s connected to equipment that cannot accept an
external clock, such as DDS (in the United States).
You can use side-panel brackets to install the PSD in a 19" rack. The
brackets can be removed without harming the PSD.
The PSD includes four LEDs. POWER lights when the device is
receiving AC power. DATA lights when data is broadcast from the main
channel to the subchannels. ACTIVITY lights when a subchannel
accesses the main channel. AUTOMATIC lights when a subchannel has
been automatically disabled.
